Previously, David—who is also a dad to daughters Allison, 52, Amy, 49, Sara, 41, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 36—has also opened up about why he doesn’t regret welcoming another child in his 70s.
“I haven’t regretted a single day of it,” he told People last October. “I’ve loved every single day.”
He continued, “It’s the standard thing of like, ‘Oh, well you were so young when you had your children and you were working day and night, you never saw them.’ And there is some truth to that, sadly, for my [older] kids. I was just working a lot.”
Whether or not they choose to expand their family is still up in the air, but it’s clear both Katharine and David love the role they play as parents.

Reports are swirling that the couple are already expecting their first child together, but are the newlyweds ready for a second?
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, the “American Idol” alum opened up about her relationship with Foster, 71. McPhee, 36, revealed that she and Foster have talked about having another baby, and that she is open to the idea. “We are talking about it,” McPhee said. “We don’t have any plans as of yet, but we’ve definitely made jokes about loaning out our potential surrogacy.”
McPhee also spoke candidly about using a surrogate. “David has five kids so he’s done the diapers, done the whole thing. If we eventually decided to do something like [using a surrogate], I think that would be something we would consider,” she said.
When it comes to baby names, McPhee said she and Foster “have some ideas that we’re kind of bouncing around. Nothing definitive that we can use here, but he has some really great ideas.”
After getting married in June 2019, McPhee and Foster appear to be stronger than ever. With a possible baby on its way, their family is sure to expand. Fans will have to wait and see if the couple is ready for another little one!
