Josh Duhamel Defends Co-Star Katherine Heigl From “Bad Rap” Narrative – E! Online

“Some of you may remember over ten years ago I was very vocal about the absurdity of the working hours crews and actors were being forced into by production,” she wrote in a September 2021 Instagram post. “Even Diane Sawyer interviewed me and not so kindly informed me ‘no one feels sorry for you.’ I very publicly and for many, many years after, got my ass kicked for speaking up.”

Noting that the backlash made her “struggle with self-confidence and self-worth,” she also shared that she’s even braver moving forward.

As she put it, “I speak up today and say with zero hesitation or regret.”

Source link Acclaimed actor Josh Duhamel has come to the defense of his former Knocked Up co-star Katherine Heigl, who has been the subject of a “bad rap” narrative in Hollywood in recent years.

In an interview with E! Online, the 45-year-old actor discussed the narrative which had been woven around his former co-star, and proclaimed it to be “unfair”. On the subject of Heigl’s reputation, Duhamel stated with unwavering support, “That’s one of the—in my opinion—the greatest injustices in our business. Katherine is a beautiful person and an incredibly talented actress.”

The stars had previously worked together on the hugely popular 2007 romantic comedy, Knocked Up. At the time, Heigl was a rising star in the industry, yet has since experienced a downturn in her career, with continued rumors of bad behavior and a generally rocky reputation.

Asked if he believed his former co-star deserved her reputation, Josh stated proudly, “No. Not at all. Not even close.” He went on to say that she was “a great actor, a great person and… funny as hell.” Duhamel also expressed his belief that Heigel was unfairly treated in the entertainment industry and that “it doesn’t get talked about enough.”

The star’s unwavering defense of his former co-star is an admirable response to the ongoing narrative that has haunted Heigel’s career. It is an encouraging sign that justice may still be served, and her reputation restored, with the help of her peers.
