In a statement shared to her Twitter account, Wilde acknowledges that her phrase has been taken out of context and stresses that she was attempting to focus the conversation on Rocky’s talent rather than his physical appearance.

“My comment about A$AP Rocky being ‘hot’ was a nod to his incredible performance, not a comment about his appearance,” she wrote. “The words I has used were being taken out of context and I recognize why people were upset by them. I’m so sorry if people presumed that was the case.”

Wilde goes on to reiterate her admiration for Rocky, noting that his musical career is remarkable and meriting of respect.

“A$AP Rocky pours his heart and soul into his music and I have the utmost respect for him. As an artist and as a person I’m in complete awe of what he’s created, and never intended for my remarks to be taken in anything but an incredibly positive way,” she explained.
