Source link It appears that a cryptic post from Shakira has caught the public’s attention, after her former partner and Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique stepped out with new girlfriend Antonia Sanchéz.
In the Instagram Story posted on Tuesday, the renowned singer and songwriter shared a quote attributed to author Ralph Waldo Emerson that reads: “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
The seemingly send-off message comes almost a year after Shakira and Pique, who share two sons together, mutually announced their decision to end their long-term relationship.
The couple first revealed their separation on January 30th, announcing via a joint statement that they had gone on separate paths after 11 years together.
The statement read, “We had already gone our separate ways in private some months ago. We have a huge respect for each other and will always value the years we spent together.”
Since then, the couple have both moved on, with Pique publishing his first selfie with Sanchéz on Monday, with reports that the two had been dating for months and were isolating together during the coronavirus pandemic.
The pair have also been recently spotted out and about at shopping malls in Girona, Catalonia and celebrating Sanchéz’s birthday in Cuenca.
Shakira and Pique have since remained on good terms and continue to share parenting duties and responsibilities, putting their children first.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer remains to be a supportive parent, commenting on Pique’s Instagram posts about his sons and posting independent snap status updates about her sons.
The sentiment of the post has left fans and followers in awe, with the post gaining more than 780k likes in 12 hours. One Instagram user commented, “You’re an inspiration,” while another praised Shakira for “being an example for everyone.”
