These Stars Didn’t Return for Their TV Revivals: Find Out Why

Best known for originating Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon series and later reprising the role on Sam & Cat with Ariana Grande, Jennette McCurdy explained on her Empty Inside podcast that not only has she stopped acting, but her Hollywood success doesn’t fill her with pride.
“I quit a few years ago because I initially didn’t want to do it,” she shared in a March 2021 episode, going on to explain that her mom had encouraged her to start acting at a young age, and that her gigs ended up supporting her family financially. But she decided to change career paths after her mom died in 2013 following a battle with cancer.
“My experience with acting is, I’m so ashamed of the parts I’ve done in the past,” McCurdy continued. “I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing. I did the shows that I was on from like 13 to 21, and by 15, I was already embarrassed. My friends at 15, they’re not like, ‘Oh, cool, you’re on this Nickelodeon show.’ It was embarrassing.”
Source link As the trend of bringing back hit television shows continues, some of the stars of the original series are unexpectedly absent. From Charmed to Gilmore Girls, there are some notable names that have disappeared. So why didn’t these actors make a comeback? Let’s take a look at some of the most popular cases.
First up is the cast of Charmed. Fans were anxious to have the original stars, Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan, return for the reboot. Unfortunately, Doherty made it clear in an emotional interview with Entertainment Weekly that returning was never an option. She did not agree with the direction the show was going and opted out of the project entirely.
Next up is the cast of the Gilmore Girls revival. Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham were on board to bring their beloved characters back to life, but unfortunately their co-star, Melissa McCarthy, wasn’t able to join them. McCarthy was unable to make time in her busy schedule and left the revival without the presence of Sookie.
Finally, we have the cast of The Office. The nine-season show was beloved by fans everywhere and the hopes of a full cast return were high. Unfortunately Steve Carell, who played the beloved Michael Scott, was simply too busy with acting commitments and chose not to join the revival.
The trend of television revivals has become increasingly popular in recent years. However, it is unfortunate that not all of the stars of the original series can come back for round two. This could be due to disagreements with the directors’ vision, busy schedules or simply a lack of interest. In any case, fans of these beloved shows will have to keep their eyes peeled for the remaining stars’ return.
