Ticketmaster apologises for Taylor Swift tour sales fiasco

The company says it faced an “unprecedented” software attack when the star’s Eras tour went on sale.

Source link Taylor Swift’s latest world tour is proving to be a nightmarish experience for her fans, who have been struggling with technical issues while trying to book tickets on Ticketmaster. After the initial batch of tickets selling out in minutes, the ticket selling giant has now apologized for the difficulties in the ticketing process.

In a statement, Ticketmaster said it was working hard to fix the online issues that prevented many fans from getting tickets to Swift’s “Reputation” tour. The company said it had to put a hold on the sale of tickets to “ensure that real fans were able to get real access”.

The statement added that: “We want to apologize to Taylor and her fans for any disappointment resulting from the technical difficulties we encountered last week.” It went on to say that the company is committed to providing “an enjoyable, safe and secure live entertainment experience for fans.”

The fiasco meant that fans around the world were left disappointed as they weren’t able to purchase tickets to the show. Ticketmaster also waived ticket fees for all of the shows on the tour in order to demonstrate its commitment to Swift and her fans.

In addition, Ticketmaster has taken “extraordinary measures” to ensure that they can get the tickets they really want. They have implemented measures such as ticket limits, designated pre-sale windows, paperless tickets, exclusive fan-club presales, and anti-scalping technology to guarantee that the tickets on their site are going to authentic fans.

The efforts by Ticketmaster have gone a long way towards appeasing fans, and many are now looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift on her “Reputation” tour.
